Concrete is the material that makes people rethink what a dumpster can hold. A small slab weighs far more than a full container of furniture. Roll-off containers take that pile off the property in one collection instead of a dozen trips.
Why concrete is booked by weight, not by volume
A patio slab or a section of driveway looks like a modest pile. By tonnage it is one of the heaviest loads we carry, and the weight allowance decides the job long before the sides do.
That means the usual sizing logic runs in reverse. On a concrete job you often want a smaller container filled part way rather than a big one you cannot legally move.
Tell us the rough square footage and the thickness when you book. Those two numbers get you the right container far more reliably than describing the pile.

Some things cannot go in any roll-off container. Paint, solvents, oils, chemicals, batteries, tires, asbestos and anything flammable all need separate disposal, and both federal and state rules govern where they end up. The EPA guidance on household hazardous waste sets out which materials count.
Choosing a size
Three containers cover this work. The 15 yard is 16ft by 7.5ft by 48in with a 1 ton allowance. The 20 yard is 16ft by 7.5ft by 6ft with 2 ton. The 30 yard is 20ft by 7.5ft by 6ft with 3 ton, and it is the one for new construction and commercial work.
Anything over the included allowance is charged per ton. Light bulky waste runs out of space first. Dense material like shingles, tile, concrete and dirt reaches the weight allowance long before the container looks full.
Getting to us from George Washington Carver Park
The yard is at 2211 W Division St on the north-west side of the city, 6.2 miles from George Washington Carver Park and about 14 minutes in normal traffic. Head out on East Madison Street, then South Oak Grove Avenue, then East Cherry Street, then turn onto South Barnes Avenue.
You do not need to come to us. Deliveries run out to the property and the container is collected on your schedule. The drive matters only if you want to look at a container before you book, and you are welcome to.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can I not fill it to the top?
Weight. Each size carries a set tonnage, and concrete reaches it while the container still looks half empty. Overloading it makes it unsafe to lift.
Can concrete go in with other debris?
Ask first. A mixed load changes the weight math and it is much easier to plan before delivery than after.
Is rebar a problem?
Tell us if it is in there. It does not rule the load out, it just needs knowing about in advance.
What size do I need for a patio?
